Does flax seed oil help with water retention?

I found this answer on a pregnancy web site but can't figure out where now. I need the information for my mother to take to her doctor as she is now having water retention issues related to Congestive Heart Failure.Does flax seed oil help with water retention?
A partial reference here...

';Like flax seed oil, fish oil also belongs to the Omega-3 family of fats. Certain types of fish oil are high in two unsaturated fats 鈥?EPA and DHA. EPA helps to promote the favorable prostaglandins - hormone-like compounds that play a role in blood pressure, water retention, platelet stickiness, blood clotting and the inflammatory response. The brain is comprised principally of the fatty acid DHA. Numerous studies have pointed to the beneficial effects of supplementing with DHA in the treatment of attention deficit disorders in children and in memory problems with patients diagnosed with Alzheimer鈥檚 disease.';

';The high content of omega-3 fatty acids in flax seed oil is but one of its positive attributes. The essential fatty acids combined here have proven to impart a regulatory function on the body's fatty acid metabolism. Fat metabolism is as important, if not more critical, than our body's metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates as evidenced by the drastic rise in fat related degenerative diseases, such as vascular disease and strokes. Dietary essential fatty acids common to flax seed oil are ultimately converted to hormone-like substances known as prostaglandins, and are important for the regulation of a host of bodily functions including:

* Inflammation, pain, and swelling

* Pressure in the eye, joints or blood vessels

* Secretions from mucus membranes and their viscosity

* Smooth muscle %26amp; autonomic reflexes, gastrointestinal, arterial, ear, heart

* Water retention

* Blood clotting ability

* Allergic response

* Rheumatoid arthritis

* Nerve transmission

* Steroid production %26amp; hormone synthesis';

Hope that helps, and good luck!Does flax seed oil help with water retention?
Flax Seeds are rich in an Omega-3 series of essential fatty acids called alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which the body must obtain from external sources because it cannot make it. Flax Seed Oil is reported to be one of the richest sources of omega-3 fatty acids that are required for the health of almost all body systems. ALA is necessary for the regulation of cellular activity and protects the body against the effects of high blood pressure, inflammation and water retention because they reduce the production of series 2 prostaglandin, which cause inflammation and water retention.
