Avocado oil is one of few vegetable oils not derived from seeds; it is pressed from the fleshy pulp surrounding the avocado pit.

Avocado oil from the flesh is rich in Vitamin (A, B1, B2, D, G and E), amino acids (palmmitic. stearic, oleic and linoleic), panthothenic acid, protein, lecithin, fatty acids and has excellent keeping quality. This oil is said to filter out tanning rays of the sun and is non-allergic. It is similar to lanolin in its penetrating and skin softening action. Also known to stimulate collagen metabolism, increasing the proportion of soluble collagen in the dermis which may help retard visible signs of ageing while softening the skin.

Just to let you know the Avocado pit and skin contains a poison called Persin.

Olivado make an Avocado oil from the flesh of the fruit without the skin or pit getting into the oil. Report Abuse
